Corrosion-resistant encapsulated fiberglass doors from Universal Pultrusions
Happy New Year! I look forward to serving you again in 2012 with just the right doors for your project. And I'm proud to announce that Mayer Door now represents the unique line of encapsulated fiberglass door and frame components from Universal Pultrusions LLC, which was recently acquired by Special-Lite.
This means you can get the entire Universal Pultrusions line of industrial doors, door louvers & lites, frames, thresholds and wall louvers, in all industry-standard models and widths, as well as custom sizes.
Encapsulated doors and frames are especially useful in highly corrosive environments and locations that require frequent cleaning and sterilization.
To manufacture its doors, Universal Pultrusion uses a machine process that pulls resin-saturated glass fibers continuously through a heated die, forming a monolithic polymer around a urethane foam core. This produces a one-piece pultruded door panel that has no side seams, metal fasteners or metal reinforcing plates.
Here are a few more things you'll want to know about this line:
- Pultruded fiberglass doors, doorframes, thresholds and louvers deliver the best ROI for high-traffic, chemically intense or chronically wet environments. A polyurethane finish ensures superior immunity to salt water.
- These are more durable than hollow-metal doors and are precision manufactured to meet critical tolerances and survive hostile conditions.
- They are impact and abrasion resistant. Because they have no seams, they will never delaminate.
- They are ideal for clean rooms, cold storage, utility closets, wastewater and water treatment facilities, highway department salt sheds, latrine buildings, zoos, breweries, municipal, and food processing facilities.
- They are half the weight of 16-gauge hollow metal doors.
